2024 was a big deal for us, we went from an idea, to a concept, to a playable game, all in under 12 month! So in 2025 we have lots planned to bring the game closer to our collective vision. As we mentioned in Decembers update, there is much we need to do, January for us has been a month of starting good habits and putting our ducks in a row, for the best development timeline.
One of the first thing we have focused on is updating the character designs. The aim being to make them match our artist will's art style and to add a bit of a fresh coat to their designs. We feel like some revised designs would also pair well with the narrative overhaul as it will better reflect their personalilies. Above you can see the current working concepts for Medusa and Santa.
We have also been discussing changes to the UI, one of these changes would be a major overhaul of the level select screen. At the moment the level select is very stagnant and flat, we want to add a bit of pizazz to make it pop a bit more and feel more alive. Above you can see a concept animation of how we want the level select to look.
As always the future of Mythical Matchmaker is very undefined, mainly so that we have the best flexibility for our team. But we can say with out a doubt that we are pushing as hard as we can to get the game done by the end of this year, that's not a promise, but we are at least considering the fact that it is possible. For now we are just trying to get our heads down and continue doing what we love!
